Spectacular Time-Lapse Video of Australian Night Sky:

An amateur astronomer from Australia created this stunning time-lapse video of the night sky over the ocean. It shows clouds streaming across the sky, star-spangled heavens and the oscillations of the tide. It took Alex Cherney of Victoria, Australia a year to compile the 30 hours of exposure. In May, Cherney took the overall prize at the STARMUS astrophotography competition for this video. Source; Wired Science.

Journey to the Edge of the Universe

National Geographic presents the first accurate non-stop voyage from Earth to the edge of the Universe using a single, unbroken shot through the use of spectacular CGI (Computer-Generated Imagery) technology.

Building on images taken from the Hubble telescope, Journey to the Edge of the Universe explores the science and history behind the distant celestial bodies in the solar system. This spectacular, epic voyage across the cosmos, takes us from the Earth, past the Moon and our neighboring planets, out of our Solar System, to the nearest stars, nebulae and galaxies and beyond – right to the edge of the Universe itself.

When you finish this video, you will walk away from it with an awareness that you never had before, of the unseen astronomically massive universe that we float around on like a spec of dust in the ocean. This video takes you on a journey through the universe as if you are watching a Sci Fi adventure. Yet you constantly have to remind yourself that what you’re seeing is really out there.

The Definitive Guide To The Milky Way Galaxy

The secrets of our home galaxy revealed with all new state of the art computer recreations from JPL and NASA.

In the beginning, there was darkness, and then, bang—giving birth to an endless, expanding existence of time, space and matter. Now, see further than we’ve ever imagined, beyond the limits of our existence, in a place we call The Universe. A tour of the Milky Way; a look at the massive black hole with the mass of thousands of suns, that lies at its center; how the death of old stars provide the material to create new ones; and how stars from the galactic center are being catapulted beyond the outer arms at unimaginable speeds.

Star Size Comparison HD

There are several videos circulating showing a comparison of the largest stars. I like these kind of things, and I wanted to try one myself. Probably because I also watched “Cosmos” by Carl Sagan as a kid.

Destination Innovation – Episode 1 – Kepler
Destination Innovation is a new series that explores the research, science and other projects underway at NASA’s Ames Research Center. A Journey into a Black Hole

Many Space Fans have been asking for more information about black holes, specifically, what would it be like to go inside one? This is the end of time and our physics as we know it.
