Shoot The Moon

Anytime you get the chance to step outside under our mid north coast skies it’s a spectacular event worth waiting for. Out of all the world’s constellations we have the best in Australia, and the show is only about to start.

If you’ve got a telescope or binoculars that’s a good start. Out of all the objects in the night sky the Moon is the easiest to find and with today’s smartphones, almost anyone can become an astro-photographer.

The Mid North Coast Astronomy Group (NSW Australia) founded by Dave are putting on a free viewing night on Saturday November 25 for all residents of the Hastings. They will have large telescopes set up showing the stars, planets and nebula but the prime focus will be on the Moon.

Dave said his group are inviting you to bring along your phone cameras to to Sancrox Reserve, Colvin St Sancrox around sundown and they’ll show you how easy it is to take your very own photograph of the Moon through a professional grade telescope.

It’s easy! It’s free and you can also shoot a couple of star pics too if you like. I encourage everyone, especially families with children, to come along. So, head on down to the Sancrox Reserve, Colvin Street, Sancrox before sundown on Saturday night November 25 for some spectacular early evening sky viewing and a free laser guided sky tour by Dave afterwards.

What a photo opportunity! Those with a smart phone can attach it to one of the large telescopes for an unusual souvenir. Why not make a night of it, grab the family and friends and get out under the stars with Dave, you won’t be sorry!  For all enquiries please ring David on 0400 636 363 or just turn up on the night.
